The 'Butterfly Toolkit No1: Social Change Campaign contains all the elements and know how in order to run a peace mapping competition in your country.

It is based on our experiences with the Building Bridges (www.buildingbridges.co.ke) peace campaign held in Kenya in 2010. We are writing a How to, drawing up a case study and have put the technical elements together with guidelines.

Ushahidi is a crisis mapping tool and enables people to put a situation on the map in case of failing communication through traditional channels. The Joomla! Component for Ushahidi focuses on mapping positive events and creates a platform to follow the long term aspects of a context.

The Framework
Ushahidi is based on the Kohana framework. Most of the effort in construction the PCoE application went into allowing Joomla to execute Kohana source code.

Containing these elements
The Joomla Component for Ushahidi application consists of one Joomla! component, and a series of modules that re-expose the Ushahidi front page separately. In addition to this, the application also contains a number of technical joomla extensions to enable Joomla to execute Ushahidi source code.

The 'Butterfly Toolkit No1: Social Change Campaign' application is a complete package. The Joomla administrator can download the .zip installer and install the application in the existing website. lts modules can be published in any template position for any template as chosen by the user.
